A
native of
California,
Kathy Parkinson
received
an undergraduate
degree in
Art and
Design from
UC Davis
and an MA
in Art from
UCLA. Her
love of color
and pattern,
so much
a part of
the environment
she
grew up in,
has been
a integral
part of her
work
ever
since. In
1980 she
moved to
the Boston
area. While
raising
three
children,
Kathy worked
part time
illustrating
books for
young people
and developing
her decorative
painting
skills. For
several
years, she
taught Decorative
Painting
classes at
The Kendall
Center for
the Arts
in Belmont,
MA. Now Kathy enjoys working out of her studio using the interplay of color, pattern, and imagery to create floor cloths, murals, faux finishes, and painted furniture for individual clients.
Her feeling
is that life
is short...
why not live
it surrounded
by
color!
